The Eroncig's had a beautiful cocktail party for Denie and Mason to celebrate their engagement. It was so fun and I got to show off my new bangs. It is always cool to go to their apartment to see them and their fabulous art!
I flew back to Neport Saturday morning and Tara and drove straight to the beach. We went out to the Dockside and they were having a Captain Morgan's promotion. The house was full of girls in town and everyone was out for the last weekend of the summer.
Sunday we went to the Beach and then to the ABC, remembering once we were there that the crowd on Sunday is not the same as Saturday. Oh well, it was beautiful out and their frozen lemonade is delicious.
Sunday night was all the West Deck and it was fun! All my new summer friends were there.
Meg's Wedding Week! It was so much fun and started Thursday night going out to Bouganvillea in South Miami with everyone in town. Then Friday was the Bridesmaids Luncheon at Le Provencal hosted by Ashley and Zaria and Mrs. Walter. It was so much fun and a great way to kick off the festivities. Then Friday night, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at Flemings. It was great to see everone and the speeches at the rehearsal dinner were hilarious. Then back to the Biltmore for a little party celebrating Robb's birthday. Saturday Morning I ran over to Miami Beach for Lisa's baby shower at the Surf Club. Got back in time to get my hair done and make it up to Meg's room. Everyone was getting ready in her room and then we were off to the Church! Meg was a beautiful bride and all the bridesmaids looked so great in hot pink. Brett's friends were very handsome groomsmen in tails and lots of fun. The reception was at the Biltmore and was so beautiful with the most amazing flowers I had ever seen. Here are some pics.... And...I caught the bouquet, hilarious. So, am I next???? We will see. The whole time at the wedding, my roommates from Newport were texting me about how much fun they were having and kept seeing certain boys. It was torture. I decided then to go back for Labor Day weekend.
Sunday was the brunch and then at the pool. It was sad to see it all end.
I packed up all my loot, which was ridiculously extensive and was all set to take the bus to Logan airport Monday morning at the crack of dawn. Late Sunday on my last night out with Heidi and Lou, we hit the West Deck and hung out all night. I was about to leave when I met a really nice guy who offered my a ride to Logan the next morning. Sounded too good to be true, but he delivered on his promise and delivered me to the airport on time. So sad to leave but I had a fitting to get to Tuesday and a nervous bride driving me crazy. When I got home, my house was still in such good shape from when I left, cleaned up for realtors, yuck!
No posts since I don't have pics to back all the information up...It is Tuesday and last weekend was a blur of going out every night, having a blast. Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights, all the same, West Deck, Dockside and Fifth Element. Tara still hasn't downloaded, so I will post pictures asap... Months later, I am back and uploading some pics from the last of my Newport Summer.
This weekend flew by.. We went out Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to Fifth Element, the West Deck and, of course, the Dockside. There were so many people out, it is a lot more crowded than when I left.
We got an August pass for Gooseberry Beach and went on Saturday. It is so pretty and I am actually slightly tan, a miracle.
I am back in Newport! It is H O T here and our little air conditioner is in the hallway and is not strong enough to keep everyone cool. I bought a box fan today at Wal Mart and it will be with me in the house wherever I go.
Brooke, Tara and I drove to Providence today to check out Providence Place, a real live mall very similar to Dadeland. We ate dinner at the most amazing Italian restaurant called Al Forno and it was delicious. Will definitely go back.
We headed to Ocean Reef on Saturday for Meg's big day. The weather was iffy but ended up being great. Meg, Ashley, Zaria, Denie, Holly, Jamie E., Jamie M., Grimsley, Catherine and I were at the pool and got tons of sun. It was really fun. Pictures to follow- my camera is still broken!
Packing like crazy to leave on Tuesday back up to Newport. Can't wait...
We made it home around 2pm. I am already making necklaces for my orders and hope to have them all out by Monday. Here is what my booth looked liked. It was very pink! I have 2 weeks to clean up my house so I can get back up to Newport. That is quite a challenge, but should be interesting. My other challenge is to be tan, almost as hard.
Well, we are driving home! My Mom and I made it to Lake City, FL and will get home tomorrow around 3pm. We are so tired and can't wait to get home.
So my last day at the show was fantastic and I got a huge re-order from the Flat of the Hill. I love Katherine, the owner and am so excited that she already sold so much of my stuff. If you are in Boston, stop by 60 Charles Street, you won't be disappointed.
My next plan is to get my orders out and C L E A N up my house. I know I always say that but my parents have moved up the sale of our house and it has to be in good enough condition to pass my mother's inspection for realtors. SCARY SCARY SCARY
So, tomorrow is my 3rd day at the gift show and all I can say is that it is S L O W! It is not like the January show, which is packed with people. I got some nice orders and then today after I attacked a lady at the entrance when I saw her name badge say she is from Lauderdale Lifestyles (a cute Lilly store in Ft. Lauderdale) and begged her to come look at my stuff. She came by a little later and was really nice and told me she would place an order in Sept for the season. Then she told me her friends with her had their own store and when I saw their name badges, I almost fainted, C. Orrico in Palm Beach. I have been trying to get to these ladies forever and it is almost impossible. Anyway, they couldn't have been nicer and told me they would place an order as well, but they weren't buying jewelry at this show and to call at the end of August. So, I am so excited about that, but am hoping for more orders tomorrow.
Some guy that took a picture for me in Newport dropped my camera, so it is messed up. I took a couple of pics of my booth and will replace them when I get home from my Mom's pictures, but you can get an idea. I am so tired and have been going to bed at 9:30 every night. I finally went to a doctor yesterday and got a z pack, thank goodness. :)
Flying home from Providence. Almost missed the shuttle due to mandatory diet coke from Panera. Throat is very sore. Flew all day and ended up getting in to Fort Lauderdale around 5:45. Helen picked me up and dropped me off at Villagio. Met up with the girls for dinner. Weird to be home. Mom picked me up and I came home to a mountain of mail and all the lovely stuff I left behind in May. I have some serious work to do before we leave on Wednesday.
I am starting to pack and I don't know how I am going to get all my stuff home. So, I am leaving some here to get later when I come back! The girls went out with me last night for a last hoorah and we started at the Fifth Element. It was fun and there was an 80's DJ playing great music. Next to the Dockside. We ran into some friends we met Sunday night. One in particular, Richard, was super nice. He lives one street over. Shannon has cute pics on her camera and I have to wait for her to download to share. Back to packing....
After my crazy night on Saturday, I took it easy on Sunday. We went for drinks at the West Deck before dinner and ended up staying there all night. It was fun. We did meet Jack from Connecticut who was very cute. He was being attacked by a crazy girl and we saved him from the madness. See pics. Only 3 more days. I can't believe it. I am so glad I am coming back!
So last night we went to the Dockside again and it was really packed. There were 10 of us and there is a picture but not on my camera-will post later. The end of the night is too embarassing to write about so if you want to know, you have to call me 305-525-0255. Yikes.
Last night all the girls were finally at the house! We started out at Asterisk and the guy that almost ran us over last night was right at the bar. He didn't even get in trouble! Whatever. On to the Dockside and it was not as much fun as last Saturday night. Holding out for saturday again. There were a few nice guys out, one named John that was cute. He was making fun of me that I lived all the way down on Dixon like that was the wrong side of the newport tracks. I love Dixon Street!! I am working all day Saturday to finish all my orders before I leave. Everyone else is going to the beach. More later....
So, I dragged Lou and Tara out on Thursday night and it was fun. We went to the 5th Element bar and then to Asterisk on the way home. One cute guy from New York, Brian wanted to hang out with Lou but was not happy when we told him he looked like Matthew McCanoughey, isn't that a great compliment???? You can judge for yourself if I am correct. Then a WASTED guy we saw at the bar tore out of the driveway and barely missed all of us and promptly got pulled over by the police. They got all our our information because they saw the whole thing and wanted to know if he could have been trying to hit us on purpose! Can you imagine. Please notice the police car in the background. It is 2am right now and the police are still outside dealing with him. Yikes. Tomorrow most of the girls are coming to Newport. This weekend should be really fun.
Today was jam packed. Tara's aunt and uncle and Mom are visiting and we all went out to breakfast. Two hours later, we had lunch with Brooke and Heather Bell near all the ships. The Tall Ships are in Newport and there a million people here to see them. The streets are packed with sailors from all over the world. It looks like Fleet Week! I babysat in the afternoon and took Brittan and Barrett to get popsicles down Thames and realized after a little bit that the carriage had a flat tire- I was thinking I was just tired! It was a workout to say the least but very fun. We went on a tour cruise around the harbour. The ships up close are unbelivable and huge. We also went by Hammersmith Farms, which is where Jackie Kennedy grew up and was married. It is private now otherwise that tour would have been first on my list of things to do in Newport. Tara, Lou and I are heading out and we will see how successful our scouting is....
Goodness I am having the best time in New York! I got to the city Tuesday morning early and got to see Nicole's little Jordan. She is so adorable and sweet. Lisa came over and we went to Pastis for lunch-no celeb sightings unfortunately! After manis and pedis, we went to Soho for some shopping. Later, Nicole and I took Jordan to dinner at Frederick's right by her apartment. Since I was dreaming about Magnolia cupcakes, I made Nicole go there with me for a treat. They are good but thank goodness I don't live near there. Wednesday, I went to a bead store and then uptown for some shopping and then met the girls at Fred's for lunch-again no celebs! We hung out and then it was time to go. I got the train back to Kingston, Rhode Island and Wayne was the nicest friend and picked me up late. I had a blast and then came home and realized that I will be home in one week. It has gone by so fast. This week the tall ships are in Newport so we are going to check them out. I want to go out to dinner on Thursday the 5th when I get home, so whoever wants to go, let's make a plan. xoxo
