Tuesday, I participated in a shopping event for the League Against Cancer. It was a long day, but got to see a few people who came to visit, including Meg, superstar new Mom, out shopping 4 days after childbirth.

Christmas Tree

I finally bought my tree at Publix. My building only allows up to 6 feet since we have elevator issues, but the one I liked was more like 8, so I went for it. Brett and Blake had to come over and help me bring it up. It is very tall, but looks amazing. I found a pink bow at Preston Scott for $35, which almost killed me since I know I could have bought an entire roll for much less, but the instant gratification element won out. I didn't even use half of my ornaments and the very top part of lights stopped working. I really could use a full time handyman for all of my apartment issues. That would normally be called a boyfriend or husband, but for now, a handyman.

New Couch From Ikea

Here is a pic off my new couch and chair from IKEA. They were delivered Saturday and even though I was determined to change the colors in my new apartment, the pink and green pillows just found themselves on my new couch. They look cute but I am ready for a change.

Another weekend

Saturday, went to lunch at Houston's with Meg and Brett. It was yummy, I hadn't been there for months. We went to Bellini and then to Whip-n-Dip. I visited with Chip and Zaria next and then went to Home Depot to scout out stuff I need for the move. Watched a movie at night with Helen. Sunday morning, went to the front porch for breakfast and then made jewels all day. Saw "The Duchess" again with Meg in the afternoon and then went to Ra for dinner.

Brett's 30th Birthday

Today is Brett's 30th birthday. Meg has a fun party planned-hopefully a surprise. I called in the morning and he was still there. So funny, the deliveries were starting on the early side. Went to work and then called back around 11am. He had come back from work and found out the big surprise. The party started at 8pm and it was a blast. I didn't get home until 1:30 am

First weekend back

Friday night after work I went to Scotty's to see Willie P. Jeff and Christy were there and Moe stopped by. I am seeing people a little at a time. At this rate, it will take months to see all my old friends. It was fun and the weather was amazing. Saturday morning, went to Coral Reef to meet up with Denie, Mason and Reese and then after met Ashley and her Mom at Chocolate Fashion for lunch. Sunday, back to the storage unit and then saw "the Duchess" with Helen and Tatiana. Loved that movie. Saw an apartment at 90 Edgewater this morning. It might be the one.

Finally meeting Reese

Back at work again and afterwards got an invite to Denie and Mason's. Cynthia had fixed them dinner and they invited me to join. She made an amazing Greek meal and I finally got to meet Reese. She was so sweet but slept the whole time I was there.

Back to work and apartment searching

Monday after some errands, I went back to work at Royal Caribbean. It was wierd to be back now that our department in community relations is just Helen and I. Got caught up with work and then moved my stuff into Tatiana's apartment. She is letting me stay with her until next week. I am starting my apartment search asap.

Home to Miami

Driving home to Miami was very wierd. Going home without a home is not fun. I stopped by to see Helen, ate lunch with Amy, went to my storage unit and then headed to Meg's. She had some people over for dinner to welcome me home. See cake below. It was fun and I had my first overnight at her new house.

Slow and jewels

I am so bored with myself, all I have done is make necklaces, watch an enormous amount of television and answer voice mails from Royal Caribbean-that is not fun. I picked my parents up from the airport last night and today organized all my beads. As I said, not too much going on...
I did get a wonderful infusion of cash this morning and promptly sent a check to my website guru Cara Marquis. She is starting next week and I am so excited. The new website will have a shopping cart so anyone can buy stuff on at any time. It is really about time.
Leaving Sunday for my final drive..back to Miami. I can't beleive I am almost home!
Dying to meet Denie and Mason's baby, born Monday. She is so cute.

Girl's Weekend

After hanging out since Tuesday, I was getting a little bored. Then Ashley and Meg came to the rescue. Meg flew in Friday morning and I picked her up at the airport and then we headed to my favorite place to eat here, KP's. How funny.. We had yummy lunch, got locked out of my parent's house and then got in right in time for Ashley's arrival. We freshened up and headed out to Amelia Island Plantation and the cute shops around. We shopped for a bit and then ate dinner at the Verandah. Got home early and got in pajamas and lounged for the rest of the night.
Saturday morning, we headed to Jacksonville for more shopping. First stop San Marco, where Ashley and Meg found a great maternity clothing store. They were trying stuff on and Ashley put in a pillow to see how things will look later on, she looks bigger than Meg in the pictures and we were dying laughing.

After San Marco, we drove to Avondale and then out to Ponte Vedra for dinner at some place Meg had been to a million years ago.

We got home, regrouped and made it out again for ice cream later. Sunday morning, we went to breakfast and then they both left. So much fun to see the girls...I can't belive I only have one week left before heading home.

Finally, Amelia Island

Left North Carolina in the morning and got to the kennel to rescue Millie around 3:30. She was so excited to get in the car. Now I am unpacking the car and will be here until my parents get home. Will leave for Miami on the 21st.

Monday, September 8, 2008

On to North Carolina

I left and got on the road yet again to Cornelius, North Carolina to stay with Kelly and Robb-Meg's brother and sister-in-law. It was Catherine's birthday today, so my timing was good to catch the celebration. She went shopping with me at Birkdale so I could go to Poppie's-my favorite store. We got her Princess glasses for the trip. Leaving tomorrow for Amelia Island and to rescue Millie from the kennel.

The backroads of West Virginia

I finally got my tour of the oil pumps in the middle of nowhere. I saw the oil bubbling out of the ground, green in color, smelled the natural gas and saw the salt water. We were on the bumpiest, scariest roads and we covered a lot of ground. Lunch at Bob Evans-very fancy..watched "there will be blood" and then went out for wings. We were in a food coma when we got home. Yikes.

Charleston, West Virginia

We went to run errands in the morning and ended up at Gail's house with delicious coffee cake. Alexandra was decked out in her rain gear since it was pouring-effects of Hurricane Hannah. We went to Cheeburger Cheeburger for lunch and then I was on the road again heading west to the lovely state of West Virginia. I found Ryan's house with the help of On Star and arrived around 7pm. After my tour and meetintg his new dog Cinder, we went to Mexican for dinner.

Off to Richmond

Got up and headed on the train back to Pelham Manor to my car. On the road to Richmond and arrived around 4:30. Whitney and I went to the mall and met up with Gail, Jim and Caroline for dinner. It was great to see everyone.

Last day in New York

Got up early and hung out with Jordan before we headed out uptown for lunch at Fred's. I did some shopping after and then headed back down town to meet up with my friend Jacob from college. It was great to catch up with him-reconnected through FACEBOOK of course. Natalia, Nicole and I went to Blue Ribbon Sushi and it was yummy. We watched McCain's speech and then went to bed.

New York with Nicole and Lisa

Wednesday, we went over to Lisa's with Jordan and hung out there. Lisa and I went to Bubby's for lunch and then walked around Soho. We met up with Nicole and got our nails done sitting right next to Christy Turlington and her daughter. Great celeb sighting. We ate Thai food at home and watched the convention.

Onward to New York

Tuesday, after hanging out with Barrett for music hour, I went to the Packing place to ship my boxes. The price was so scary, I won't mention it here. I had to return my cable box, pick up jewels left at CK Bradley and then shower and get on the road. I made it to New York around 4:30 and left my car at a friend's, took the train and got to Nicole and Marcello's around 6pm. Their new place is spectacular and it was very fun to see Jordan, talking and all over the place. We ate in and caught up...

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend is going to be chock full of entertainment, so I am starting now, on friday night-well actually early Saturday morning. We went to the Landing, which Tara has been begging to go to all summer long to relive her college days and it was full of 22 year olds. We stayed until around 10:30 and then took pedicabs to...guess where=the dockside. It was super fun and full of old friends who are in town for the long weekend. More pics to come........
Saturday, the weather was not great, so I packed some stuff up and got ready to go out again. We actually made it to a mansion for the first time of the summer. The Breakers, the biggest mansion, so beautiful..

Going out was the same usual story...Sunday, I got up and drove to East Greenwich, Rhode Island to meet Katherine from Flat of the Hill. She placed the biggest order I have ever gotten and it made my day to say the least. The weather was great, we went to the beach and stayed until around 3:30, headed to the ABC for the last time, then came home to get ready. I don't know when I thought my room would get packed up. I stayed up after we got home until 3:30 in the morning and got up again at 7:30 to finish up. We got everything out and packed up around noon and headed to Ocean Breeze for our last meal together. There were a few tears saying goodbye and I headed to Brooke's. We ran some errands and then went back to the beach until Sunset, which was beautiful and a great way to end the summer in Newport.

Last Mashpee Open Market

Today was our last Mashpee show! It was so fun this summer to drive to the Cape and set up shop in our beautiful tent. Ann and I had the best time. This week was especially have to ask me for more details

Crazy Friday night

This night was by far the craziest night of the summer. We started off at the Cooke House, so great to try something different for a change. We met a group of guys from New York there and made friends. Next to the Dockside and it was packed with people. We met many new friends there, still texting with the old friends from 30 minutes before. Then the Dockside closed and the party resumed on Thames Street, right by our house. That was fun and then the party ended on Wellington...with the first group of friends. It sounds confusing and it really was. Too many people to keep track of.

Most fun weekend so far..

So between my depression that summer is almost over and the thought of driving home and finding a place to live, I wasn't expecting to have the best weekend. Friday night we started out at the West Deck. Denice's brother Tim was in town and this was his first visit to Newport. I hung out with crazy Tristan at the Dockside. We were out late and had f u n...

I set up my trunk show Saturday morning with Tara's help and then we headed to Gooseberry Beach. The weather was unbelivable and I hated to leave at 4 to go back to the show and babysit at 6. The girls were hilarious and I hated to put them to bed. I met up with everyone around 10pm and it was all the Dockside. There were so many people, it was great. We met up with some friends we met earlier in the summer and we met Matt "Johnny from Karate Kid" Stevens, who entertained us to no end. He came back to 12 Dixon and kept the party going yelling out songs to look up on Itunes. He then, after much daring, performed his signature move-the dance step from Kid-n-Play, then he actually started a dance off with Angel, one of our other guests for the weekend.

Sunday we went back to the beach and then got ready for Shannon's birthday dinner at Brick Alley Pub. Of course, on the way home we had to stop by the West Deck for a drink. Not too exciting this Sunday, so we went home, exhausted.

CK Bradley Trunk Show

I am having a trunk show at the adorable CK Bradley store this weekend (August 16-17) in Newport. The store is located at 28 Bellevue Avenue. Come by and say hello...

Another crazy weekend

We had visitors this weekend and by Sunday night we were exhausted, but still went out! Saturday night, we ate at the West Deck inside and witnessed the most drama we have seen all summer. Some man fell on the floor in a drug-induced attack. Everyone was panicking and the crazy wife shooed away the nurse and 2 PA's from our table who could help. She started performing CPR on her husband, who didn't need it. It lasted about 15 minutes and ended up with the man pacing outside next to the ambulance and the wife and her nightmare friend getting arrested. We got a round of drinks for our discomfort and then the party continued at the Dockside like nothing happened. Pictures below...

Two feet from Gwyneth Paltrow...seriously

Tara had an extra ticket to Coldplay and I was the lucky girl who got it on Monday afternoon. We got to the Fleet Center and Tara ran into an old friend who upgraded our tickets. We ended up on the side of the stage in the first row on the corner. It was too good to be true. Right before the show started, who walks by but Gwyneth Paltrow, Blythe Danner and Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld. I was so stunned, I couldn't get my camera out fast enough. They were escorted to the next section right in the middle, in the midst of all the other people. Everyone went wild. It was truly surreal. Then, on top of that supreme celeb sighting, the concert was fantastic. They sounded great and were really amazing to see in person. We had a blast! In the last picture, you can see Gwyneth and her Mom next to the man in the red shirt-photo courtesy of our friend John...

Denie's Baby Shower

Denie's baby shower was Saturday at the Theine Tea House. We had the most delicious scones and tea sandwiches and watched Denie open up some really cute gifts. She looked great and I realized that by the time I get home, she will already be a Mom!

Rainy Sunday in Newport

After everyone finally woke up and we made it to Atlantic Cafe for breakfast, it started raining. Heidi, Shannon and Tara left to go home and Denise, Lou and I were on the couch watching movies. Two boys knocked on our door looking for our neighbors and got stuck in the rain. We invited them in to hang out and they ended up staying for a while. Jeff started playing with my jewelry and Brian got hooked on Lou's astrology book. A couple hours later, Jeff was proudly wearing a navy crystal necklace and had seperated all of my necklaces on the table...I need him at my shows.

We met them out later at the West Deck and had so much fun. Sundays end up being the most fun.

New gold necklaces and crystal bracelets

New necklaces made on gold filled chain with gold dipped Thai charms. So cute...

And lots of new Swarovski crystal bracelets in all colors...

Mashpee Open Market

I have been driving to the Cape on certain Fridays to participate in the Mashpee Open Market with my friend Ann Forget ( Our tent is so cute and we have had so much fun. Next date is August 15th and 22nd.

Hoby in Newport

FINALLY...someone from home visited me. Hoby stopped by on his way to the Cape for a night. We went to dinner at the Cooke House and then met the girls at the West Deck. Super fun and all my roommates friended Hoby on Facebook before he left Rhode Island! p.s. Tara handed my camera to some drunk guy and he cut me out...
