Tara had 9 friends from High School in town for Saturday night. We went to the beach during the day and went to the Cooke House for dinner. It was fantastic. Of course on the way home, we hit the West Deck and the Dockside. We were stuffed from dinner and this nice man bought all of us dessert, "A Snowballs Chance in Hell"-think vanilla ice cream, brownie and fudge. I would go back just for that.
Monday night I went to Boston to attend my first Red Sox Game with Shannon and Tara. We were in the bleachers and it was fun. All except Tara yelling to anyone who would listed "fenway first timer" while she pointed at me. I will exact my revenge on Tara soon....By the way, they lost to the Diamondbacks. I am crossing my fingers that my friend Katherine invites me to go with her soon!!!!!!!!
Today is the first official day of summer and the traffic in Newport would support that fact. Tara has all her high school friends coming tomorrow so our house looks better than ever. Lou, Shannon, Denise and I went out "just for a little while" and ended up staying out till all hours. Of course we started at the West Deck where our new friend Jeff let us in without waiting in line, we love him, and then the Dockside. It was fun. Can't wait for the beach tomorrow.
The weather is finally cooling off again. It should be nice this weekend, and that means the beach! I finally got my air conditioner installed in my window the right way and it worked great last night. I finished putting most of the ebay stuff I sent up here, the most I have ever had on there. Still no UPS boxes, at this point I am giving up but can't help but peek outside everytime I get home, hoping that a box will mysteriously appear. Crap!
Of course the show I did last year and sold a ton of stuff at is on the first weekend in Newport with good weather and everyone apparently is at the beach. My show partner Ann was next to me and we just hung out both days hoping for sales. Is it the economy or just bad luck with good weather?????
I have been babysitting and my little friends are keeping me on my toes. I put Brittan's hair in pigtails the other day and she wasn't so sure she like them. Barrett was posing for her big sister after she grabbed my camera and started shooting...the results were pretty good!
This blog is filled with the day to day shenanigans of a native Miami jewelry designer who enjoys traveling, reading and hanging out with friends. Spending summers in Newport, Rhode Island for the last few years has changed my life..it is the most beautiful place...Miami isn't too bad either. Read about my adventures all year long...
