More Magazines Bite the Dust

Conde Nast is closing Gourmet Magazine, Cookie, Elegant Bride and Modern Bride. This is so sad, not only because of all the poor people that will lose their jobs, but because they are excellent magazines. Gourmet Magazine has been published since 1940, I have many Mom friends that Love Cookie and when you get engaged, you need all those bridal magazines for inspiration! What I don't understand is if they must get rid of the actual magazine, why not leave the website up? If Domino Magazine still had their website, they could still provide interesting articles for their loyal readers. Yikes, if Town and Country or In Style ceased publication, I would die!

I guess it is the economy! Those magazines are pretty upscale so maybe there just aren't enough advertising dollars to go around. Hope the magazines you love survive!

Is it totally the economy or that people are just not reading magazines as much anymore? Whatever the reason, it is so sad.
