After packing up my show, unwinding for 20 minutes at my apartment this afternoon, I turned around and drove North to Sunny Isles Beach to Aqualina Resort where Jill Kargman was signing copies of her new book, The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund. The party was outside of Il Mulino Restaurant overlooking the pool. Jill was super nice, talking to everyone and posing for pictures. I brought her a bracelet as a gift and she put it right on. I can't wait to read this book!
Look how cool her handwriting is! This is what she inscribed to me...
I don't think I can make another piece of jewelry for this show! My fingers are truly sore. I set up tonight at Camille's house and everything looks adorable. We are officially ready for tomorrow. The last show I had in Miami was at my old house before I moved, so it has been over a year! Hopefully, lots of people will stop by and I will make some sales.
I will post pics in the afternoon, can't wait to share. Camille really went all out getting ready-everything is pink and green! Wish me luck!
If I had to, I don't think I could pick one winner from tonight's show. Everyone was fantastic! I love the standards and each one was better than the next. Danny Gokey possibly was my favorite. I also thought Jamie Foxx was a great mentor. So, in the spirit of my Idol Mania, I had to post another favorite Idol performance. This is Kelly Clarkson's singing on the same night for Season 1. She is so amazing and, I think, the best Idol yet-Kelly Underwood a close second!

So...I am very grateful for my life. I have a loving family, a large number of wonderful friends, a business that inspires me, a comfortable apartment and a creative mind. I am also grateful that my blog has become a fun way to share ideas, products and the thoughts in my head! I have made so many blogging friends in such a short time and everyone is so nice.
I think I am obsessed with Suri Cruise. Is it her unbelievable wardrobe? Who knows, I just get such a kick out of her. This picture made me truly LOL. She looks so cute making a break for it, her dad looks so cute (I have always been a Tom Cruise fan) running after her. Where's Katie??? When are they having another baby? I have so many questions...
I have to go, Gossip Girl is about to start! Photos by Dlisted and Just Jared.
The very first blog I ever read, Monogram Momma, has been on a little break since the holidays and MM completely immersed herself in Twitterland. Now, she is back! I am so happy, I hated seeing her blog at the end of my list with no recent posts. Welcome Back!!! If you haven't checked her out, click here..she has a fresh new look, it is super cute.
I got a very exciting invitation this weekend. Next Thursday, I will be attending a book signing party for Jill Kargman's new book, The Ex Mrs. Hedge Fund. I ordered my copy from Amazon and it should be arriving any minute. I can't wait for the party.
Earlier that day, I am having a trunk show at my friend Camille's home. I haven't had my own show in town for quite a while, so I am excited about it. I have a bunch of new things and am showing a new line of personalized melamine plates that a friend of mine has designed. When her website launches next week, I will post about it. Her plates are really the cutest things I have seen in a long time. Anyway, if anyone local is interested in attending my show, please let me know and I will forward the information.
*I am watching an old episode of Mad Men on AMC and am wondering when new episodes are coming??? Does anyone know? Also, what happened to Dirty Sexy Money? I thought that show was coming back! So frustrating!!!!!
I got a beautiful swap package from my partner Holly from Pink is My Signature Color. Lots of yummy candy wrapped with pink bows, the DVD Nights in Rodanthe-which I have not seen-so excited, a book, an adorable pillow, monogrammed key fob, scented candle and a tervis tumbler. I love these swaps, it is really fun! Thanks so much Holly!
This morning, I attended a 40th Birthday Champagne Brunch for my friend Jennifer. It was held at our friend Angela's house, which is one of the most beautiful homes in Miami. I asked her if I could shoot some pics and she said yes, so I am posting them for good decorating ideas. She has one of those houses that manages to look perfectly decorated yet very comfortable and welcoming. It was a lovely brunch!
Crazy day today. Not only am I super tired from my late night Tuesday, but today was busy! I had a Beaux Arts meeting in the morning then made jewelry for an appointment at 4pm. Later on, I went to an 80's reunion from St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School. It was really fun and the turnout was great for a first time event.
After the reunion, I scooted over to my friend Courtney's house who was hosting a flower making fiesta. Beaux Arts' Year End party is Mexican themed and we are decorating with paper flower centerpieces. Courtney's house is really beautiful and when I got there, there were flowers everywhere! They were so festive and will look great at the party. After they were finished, there was an amazing display of Mexican food. It was fantastic. Our party on May 2nd is going to be fun!
One of my BFF's Helen has been boycotting her birthday for a few years now. I am one of those people that doesn't let anyone forget my birthday is coming up, and have had a party for myself for years, but Helen hates it! This year, Helen decided to live it up and invite some friends to meet for cocktails at the Delano Hotel on South Beach. It was packed! The best DJ was working and there were beautiful people wondering all around. Tuesday are super fun at the Delano, I am making a note right now. :)
Muffy is at it again! She is hosting a giveaway of a custom design of an Ashley Brooke sticker. The design fee is waived, and the adorable stickers are 50 cents each. Click on Muffy Martini's blog to check it out and enter.
Hope you all had a great weekend, I finally went to IKEA with Helen and bought the last of the bookshelves. They were so unbelievably heavy, I had to undo the boxes in my car and bring the pieces up to my apartment in about 8 trips. Yet another occasion when a boyfriend would have come in handy. Now, who is going to help me put them together? There are 3 of them!! This is what they look like. Photo from Flickr. * Update * This is the Billy bookshelf system from IKEA. The regular bookshelf is $59 each and the doors are $45 each side. This picture also shows the extra shelf on top-I didn't get that. So, to be clear, this is not my bedroom! :)
Zaria, Helen and I went to a cocktail party tonight at the Actors Playhouse. There were tables with yummy food from local restaurants. Inside the theater, there was a silent auction with tons of items. It was fun.
One of the live auction items was this adorable puppy. He was so cute, I would have loved to have taken him home.
I own every copy of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. I love looking through them and getting ideas, seeing the pictures from the real weddings and eyeing all the fashion. I spent four years at Tiffany & Co. as a bridal consultant and brought many copies of the magazines to keep at my desk. They have so many beautiful pictures in them, it is hard not to be inspired.
The latest issue would be hard to miss with nine huge diamond rings on the cover-how fun! There is a section with different color palettes and the prettiest one is green. I would probably add a little pink in there, but the table and place cards are amazing.
This blog is filled with the day to day shenanigans of a native Miami jewelry designer who enjoys traveling, reading and hanging out with friends. Spending summers in Newport, Rhode Island for the last few years has changed my life..it is the most beautiful place...Miami isn't too bad either. Read about my adventures all year long...
