I Would Have Loved to Be Right Behind Them...

I had to actually squint my eyes to make sure I was seeing this right. Ramona, Alex and Jill from Real Housewives of NYC sitting with the girls from New Jersey. Don't you kind of feel a little sorry for Danielle, seperated by an aisle and looking so not a part of the group???? Wouldn't you love to know if they hung out and went to lunch after? Do they even like each other? Where was Bethenny? Probably at some Barnes and Noble in Ohio signing copies of her book-j/k love her.

I have to tell you, that New Jersey show really is entertaining. I really hope they all sign on for a new season.

Summer Shopping

I am trying not to go in stores and spend money. This is very difficult for me. But, if I was in the shopping mode (online), these are the things I would be purchasing...

Dress from Old Navy

Tunic from Talbots

Dress from Banana Republic

Dress from J. Crew

I seem drawn to ruffles these days. Everything I like has them. Of course, I have matching jewelry to go with each of these pieces. There are perks to being a jewelry designer!

To Do List

photo from Flickr-Lazy Organizer

I have spent the last 3 days holed up in my bedroom organizing. There is nothing on the floor, almost all of the clothes are put away and shoes organized. I watched an entire season of Sex and the City while accomplishing this task. I woke up this morning and started tackling my hall closet. How is is possible for a single girl to accumulate so much stuff? So many bins of pictures, half done photo albums, BOXES of stationery-much of which has my old address but it is too nice to just throw away so I use it for people who obviously know I moved, and much more. I am going out of town for a little bit and I know it will be on my mind, these piles of stuff and pictures that deserve to be in photo albums so I was trying to at least get orgazined before I left.

So, I invited someone over for breakfast Monday morning to finally see my apartment. Nothing like a visitor to really put a fire under someone. My friend Cece is coming over and it has helped me motivate to MOVE things and put things where they belong.

I am planning a HUGE trunk show at my apartment when I return. I have so much new stuff on the way and I would love to get rid of some of my old stuff at the same time.

GOAL: by August 10th, my apartment will be in such great shape,
I will post pictures on my blog from all angles.

There..that ought to do it!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
I am going to see the Sandra Bullock movie by tonight if I have to go by myself.
xo

p.s. Feel better Finola! Big hug!

Adjectives

I have been a little out of touch! On my cruise last week, I was given a $200 credit for internet usage, since I was working, but my computer was a little slow and trying to post was a little difficult. When I got home, my internet was not working in my apartment and the thought of sitting on the phone for hours with the Comcast people just was too much to handle.

So, now I am all wired up and ready to get back into it. This summer is already screaming by! I can't believe it is the middle of June and the year is half over. Hopefully, the rest of the year will be as exciting or more exciting than the first!

So, I was trying to remember when I went somewhere and was looking back at some old posts and starting reading them. I use a lot of adjectives! The party was so fun, the food was yummy, stationery was beautiful, lovely store, etc... you get the picture. But, I try to be desciptive so you can get the idea of what I am talking about.

Maybe my adjectives have scared away some followers! I was so close to 200 and then in the last 2 weeks, I lost 3! I have followed several blogs that I don't really read anymore but would never un-follow because I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings! That sounds silly but it is true. Oh well, I guess it is better to have real followers than fake ones!

Hedge Fund Wives Book Signing Party

Lsst night, we went to the book signing party at the Sagamore Hotel for Hedge Fund Wives, for which I was on of the hosts. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by four bathing suit models in fabulous teeny tiny bikins. The author Tatiana Boncompagni was signing books at the front and they were passing around delicious bites of food and the new Martini & Rossi sparkling Rose AND bellinis made with Martini & Rossi prosecco, so yummy. A local salon Rik Rak also had set up shop in on the rooms off the lobby giving quick manicures and pedicures. Plenty of things for everyone!

A bunch of my pals came to the party and it was so fun to see everyone!

Last Day on the Cruise

Friday was a sea day and jam packed full of actvities. The Walk for Wishes was at 10:15am. All the officers and many passengers did a one mile walk around the ship and the money raised from t-shirt purchases all goes to Make-A-Wish. After the Walk, Cynthia and Jorge set up interviews of the families. It went so well and was one of the highlights of the cruise.

Lunch followed and then a 3:00 galley tour. It was so interesting and great to see a behind-the-scenes view of a kitchen that feeds so many people at the same time. The funniest thing was the instructions on how to put the bread basket together.

Dinner was amazing and delicious. We all met for drinks afterwards and ended up at the karyoke room. I signed Jorge and I up for a duet and then after waiting for so long, my buzz wore off and I chickened out! I went to bed because my time to get off the ship in the morning was EARLY.

So sad to end the cruise!

You Can Call Me Julie

You can now call me Julie, as in Julie McCoy from the Love Boat. I feel like the social director of this cruise. It is so fun, but exhausting. Last night, my favorite towel animal yet, a monkey wearing my sunglasses hanging from a hanger, was waiting for me when I got home. So cute.

I slept in this morning, my cold is 99% gone now, thank goodness. We arrived in Labadee, Haiti around 8am. This part of the tip of Haiti is owned and operated by Royal Caribbean and is a beach and water park set up, so fun for kids and families. Ther is a Haitian market and locals selling their wares. Our group had a boat ride set up for them and then time at the water park in the afternoon.

Cynthia, Liz, Jorge, Enrique and I set up shop in a little cabana with chairs and then got food and played cards for the afternoon. I had to run back and forth to make sure all my activities for the Wish families were all set up. I got a ton of excercise, something I thought I would be doing all cruise long, oh well.

Tonight was the backstage tour of the production show. It was so cool seeing all the props in the back and meeting the cast. They work as a group for 8 month contracts and then either re-sign or move onto other things. So interesting.

After the tour, we had the Sphinx lounge for Make-A-Wish karyoke. It was really cute. Tomorrow is a big day, going to sleep. I got home and this towel animal was waiting for me...can't figure out what it is though!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

I am in love with San Juan! We got here this morning super early and once we got our stuff packed up, we headed out into the town. The architecture is stunning and the buildings for the most part are kept up beautifully. There were tons of jewelry stores and tourist shops mixed with authentic Puerto Rican restuarants and shops. We stopped at one Linen shop that had beautiful things.

What is funny is that right in the middle of town, in historic Old San Juan, there is a Starbucks and Marshalls! So funny. Every street was picturesque with mountains and the beautiful water in the background.

We at lunch at a local restuarant, happy to be back in air conditioning. The food was delicious. Our ship left early, so we headed back around 1:00pm. We ran into one of the Wish families and they are having a blast. Tonight the Flow Rider is reserved for them for a few hours, I can't wait to see them surfing out on the open seas!

Back on the ship, you could see the fort and a beautiful government building-not quite sure what it is...maybe Camille can tell me!

St. Martin

Last night, they blocked off the rock climbing wall for my Make-A-Wish group. The kids had a blast and it was cool at night with the spotlights.

We docked at St. Martin this morning and off we went! The crowds were all lined up for their shore excursions. We took the water taxi over to the little town. The scenery was beautiful, unfortunately, we didn't travel too far into the island to really see the good parts. The beach was pretty and the water was bright blue.

We got back to the ship around 12:30pm and just enjoyed the ship withouth the crowds. Dinner was delicious, crab cakes and salad and steak and to top it off, apple pie a la mode. I met up with Cynthia and Liz at the tail end of dinner.

When I got back to my room, a bunny! Tomorrow is San Juan!

In the middle of the Caribbean

So two and a half sea days into the cruise, I am ready to step onto land tomorrow in St. Martin! The seas are slightly choppy and it is hard to get used to! I ate dinner in the dining room with Meg, Brett, Pam and little Ashley, who slept through it all.

Still feeling tired and a little, sick, I went to my room afterwards and when I arrived in my room, my first towel animal was waiting for me-elephant..super cute!

This morning, we are at the Windjammer Cafe and then hit the pool. The sun was finally out and by 10am, the entire pool decked was packed. A couple of little rain storms didn't stop everyone from getting sun. I needed to re-apply my suncscreen more often and got a little burn. Ashley had fun in her lounge chair-decked in Lilly.

Lunch back at Winjammer with Robin and Terrie, very delicious and then we hit another pool deck and had a rum punch, very relaxing and we were in the concierge level deck chair area, which was a little calmer. Our Make-A-Wish group had a private Bridge Tour at 3:00 and I got to escort them there. It was very cool and large. The captain took pictures with all the kids and explained all the instruments.

After that tour, down to the ice skating rink, closed off for our group for one hour. The group put on their skates and mingled on the ice with the Ice Skating team. They had so much fun. I rant back to the room and got socks so I could skate too. Not so successful, but I did make a few laps around the rink.

Robin and I got spa pedicures in the evening and then off to dinner. There is a singles mixer onboard at 11pm. She is trying to get ne to go. Can you imagine if I met "the one" on this cruise. I would have to laugh.
