I admit I was intrigued when I heard that Tinsley Mortimer was filming a reality show last year. She has been in the magazines and Page Six for a long time and I knew her history. One gossip blog, Park Avenue Peerage, seemed to be devoted to her every movement. She came to our Neiman's a year ago promoting her Tinsley Pink lipstick for Christian Dior. She was the tiniest thing, always dressed in pink and usually had her arm linked to her handsome husband Topper...Fast forward a year or two and she is divorced, or getting divorced and hanging around some questionable characters. The show itself is entertaining and I am still watching it but wow..I have some comments....
First, she needs some vocal coaching..her voice is so boring and her monologues are painful to listen to. She should watch any of the RHONY for inspiration on that front.
Second, Jules Kirby..what a TRAIN WRECK. Not only is she gross to look at, her behavior is appalling. She skipped the premiere because she didn't like how she was edited?? Sorry, that is not editing..she has said some really awful things and she acts disgusting.
Third, Dale Mercer...does she not know how ridiculous she looks chasing after her daughter refusing to believe she has really left Topper? Tonight's episode was so painful..fun to watch in Newport..but it is all so set up and looks rehearsed. Tinsley's Mom is crazy. The chasing around at the Plaza two weeks ago was embarassing to watch.
Paul..oh Paul..his voice is so annoying and affected to listen to. He is the wild card of the show for me..never know what is going to come out of his mouth and what he is going to do. Tonight's episode was a little shocking for prime time television, even on the CW, that they showed him and his boyfriend all over each other.
Saving the most annoying for last, Devorah Rose..horrible, horrible, horrible. I read yesterday that she is angling for her own show. Please promise me that you won't watch it. She is so weird and full of herself. I don't know why she is even on the show.
The only normal one is her sister Dabney. She seems cool and is now rid of Jules. I think they should give her more air time.
I am a little shocked that Tinsley is allowing herself to be on this show without some creative control to make her and her family look not so C-R-A-Z-Y. And, to call the show High Society is laughable at this point. I fear for Mrs. Mercer's social standing in Richmond, Virginia when she gets back there..they might not let her back in the scene since she has lowered herself to such disastrous standards!
Check out High Society on the CW Wednesdays at 9:30 pm.
