Inspired Design: Cinema Style

I don't know anyone who saw the movie "Something's Gotta Give" with Diane Keaton without commenting on how fabulous the Hamptons House was where they filmed it. It has become a decorator's favorite, blogged about a zillion times. It is hard not to like, simple, clean lines, very comfortable, elegant yet down to earth. The pictures speak for themselves.

House Beautiful is featuring a beautiful New York apartment designed by James Michael and Phoebe Howard whose style was inspired from the famous house in the movie. The apartment is part of a showhouse project, Designer Visions: Cinema Style.

For the last few weeks, I have been on a condo search. Each time I walk into a new condo, completely empty..my mind races with possibilities for some new decor. The reality is that I have bought huge bookcases from IKEA and I don't know if they are all going to make it into a new place. Now, I am cleaning up my apartment with a new attitude, thinking as I touch each box or bin of stuff..do I want to pack/move this? This new line of thinking has resulted in several large trips to Goodwill and many smaller trips to my trash chute. Will keep you posted. Very excited...

That was such a pretty home in that movie. It's a great inspirational jumping board...
