iPad Help

Goodness..I am usually never without my iPad these days but I am definitely not using it to it's potential. I am looking for some cool apps and need some help from my peeps...

On any given day...

1. it lives in my purse and comes out at work-sitting on my desk and acting like my work dj
2. it gets pulled out whenever I am sitting anywhere other than work for more than 5 minutes to play solitare..extremely addicting
3. it holds only two movies that I downloaded..Shakespeare in Love and Love Actually. The other day at work, I put Love Actually on and only then realized that it really is not a family-friendly movie, especially the scenes with the porn actor stand-ins. Good thing I didn't have this ready to go on Christmas Eve with my teenage niece and nephew sitting right next to me..that would not have been good at all.
4. it helps me keep on top of all of my emails, including work
5. for the occasion that I have little ones around, I use the finger paint app for entertainment purposes..very cute.

I have found most of the magazine apps give you a little preview of the magazine, but not much more else. What am I missing? I am dying to know your favorite app?????

Sometimes I feel Like a Nut

This past week, I co-hosted a book signing party for Jill Kargman and her new book "Sometimes I feel Like a Nut" at the Penthouse at the Sagamore Hotel. I met Jill last year when she came for The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund book tour. She is so funny and has written a book full of musings and observations, writing like she is your BFF talking to you. It is a hilarious, quick read.

Me, Jill, Jillian and Hollen

Brooke, Helen and Odi wearing the party favors

Me and the other hostesses

Kelli and Holli

Last year, I brought her a little treat and she sent me a thank you note that is still on my refrigerator, like a piece of art. The engraved green card has her teensy perfect handwriting and her little doodles, which are all over the book, so cute. This is definitely one book to check out...

Veranda on JLO

Veranda Magazine has featured a California home redesigned for Jennifer Lopez in under three months. The house is like J Lo, fancy, glamourous and sparkly. I have to admit, this house is not what I expected..not sure why, but I vaguely remember pictures of her very fussy nursery for the twins that caused an outcry from parents all over the globe for it's unsafe characteristics... Anyway, this home is beautiful..I love her kitchen..since I am obsessed with kitchens these days!

In Honor of Japan

Tomorrow, Friday, March 18th, I am participating in a Blogger's Day of Silence in honor of the devastation happening in Japan. I will not be posting anything on this day.

What is Bloggers' Day of Silence and how can you participate you ask?
Anyone that has a blog can help out with this one.
The aim is just raise awareness and respect and acknowledge the devastation going on in Japan.
The guidelines are simple.

1. This coming Friday, March 18th, no posts at all on your blog.
2. Please post a blog post about what you will be doing this Friday whenever possible in hopes to spread the word and whoever else would like to join in.
3. Tweet and Re-Tweet the link to please.
4. Encourage your readers to contribute to donate shelter to Japan.
Whatever anyone can contribute will be appreciated.

Please join me this Friday March 18th in the
Bloggers Day of Silence.
My blog will be silent, which means no posts will be featured to honor and respect that has happened in Japan.
My prayers and thoughts are with all those impacted by this natural disaster.

I Wish I Hadn't Read That Tweet!

It was just a simple tweet a few weeks ago from Hopsy letting me know that Starbucks started carrying Cakepops!!! How I wish I never read that tweet! Ten cake pops later..I find myself looking out for Starbucks more than ever. The birthday cake one (pink) is so delicous. I haven't ventured out and tried Rocky Road or Tiramisu yet, but those are next. The size is perfect, just a few bites..and they are only $1.50 each, 2 for $2.50!!! What a bargain. Check them out if you haven't already!

Happy Surprise

My Dad came into town this morning at the last minute and brought me a little happy surprise from my Mom. She quilted some very vintage Lilly and Key West Fabric pieces together to make this cute little bag.

Even the inside is super cute.

The fabric in the 2nd picture on the right hand side is from this dress that she made. It looks like I am praying in this picture..probably for loose change to go to 7-11 (this pic was taken at my Grandparents house). Thanks Mom!!! xoxoxo

Nicole and Marcello

There was lots of delicious food...

Lots of dancing...

and lots of friends...

The magnificent cake...

Besides Nicole looking spectacular, she hosted one of the most fun parties I have been to in a long time. Happy Birthday Marcello!!! xo
