It surprises me that I don't talk about or refer to Oprah more than I do. I love love love Oprah Winfrey and consider myself an ultimate viewer...obviously not enough to get myself to Australia, but I tape every show and watch them with enthusiasm. When she announced this was her last season, I was so sad..but this last season has been great. I find myself reaching for tissues almost every episode.
Her new network debuted earlier this year and no surprise, the breakout hit is the Season 25: Behind the Scenes. People love to see the back stories of things..this is a no-brainer. I am obsessed with this show. It was surprising that she started the new network without tons of new programming ready to go...if you miss a show, you can undoubtedly find it a few hours later and then a few hours later than that. My super-sleuth friend Brooke thinks that she is moving her staff over to OWN and couldn't overwhelm them with their new jobs until they finished with their old ones...it does make sense.
The behind the scenes shows really give you a glimpse of what it takes to put on each show. When the show is airing, the cameras are in the control room with the producers usually holding their breath and crossing their fingers that everything goes smoothly. Oprah comes in after each show and lets them know how she thinks it went. It is so fun to watch..
I am starting to think she could spawn so many shows on OWN using her Oprah Winfrey Show footage. She could have a Favorites show re-airing fan favorite episodes, a Blooper show with reels of footage of mistakes or even an extended behind the scenes of Oprah herself putting the new network together.
ONLY 15 SHOWS LEFT!!!!!!!!!
