Falling Behind the Times....

For years, I have always been so proud of myself that I can hook up any VCR, cable box, DVD player, etc... I usually can get fix my smaller computer problems without asking for help, but some of these new social media outlets are leaving me very frustrated...

Pinterest...I signed up. I finally figured out how to download the Pin it deal on my tool bar. I go to a website and click the button and it asks me questions that I can't answer! There are so many of my friends on Pinterest by now, it cannot be that difficult, but seriously, I sort of already gave up. Then writing this post, I made myself pin one thing..so I have one pin! Follow me here.

Tumblr seems like an online scrapbook that you can steal from anyone you see. It is the only website where this is appropriate. I signed up and then just didn't get started. How many things should one person have to update?

The other frustrating thing is when social media outlets make big changes and then you have to do all the work cleaning up the mess. Years ago, I started a Kristin Pearce Designs group on Facebook. I had over 200 members and would message my events and such. I didn't take advantage of this page and when it occurred to me that I was missing out of the beauty of Facebook being free and having access to almost 800 friends, I went to my group page and it was scheduled to be archived!!! I apparently did not have enough activity. So, it will be archived in the months ahead. Then, I started a page for my business and tried to get my peeps from the first one to move over to the second. Two months later, I still have more than half of the people in my old group. They will not click on the link and LIKE my new page. It is so frustrating. If you will, please LIKE my new page..it will make this blogger so happy.

Am I the only one out there that thinks any 8 year old could figure this stuff out faster than you??? Don't even start me on blog followers. I have been stuck around 450 forever. I was at 451 and then lost one the other day. I almost shed a tear. Don't get me wrong, 450 followers is amazing..but 500 would be so much fun. I met a cute boy last weekend and within 10 minutes, had him following my blog. He didn't even know what we was doing. I usually am not so sneaky, but the competitive streak in me is starting to really show!!!!

If it makes you feel better... I don't know what Pintrest is, I do have tumblr and am active on it...but I have not switched my CDS group to a page on facebook and I hate the thought of having to do it and losing all those followers. ...and now I'm in fear of Google+... ugh!

Girl...I know how it is. I have to spend a weekend every so often to catch up! Google + is just Google's Facebook. I like it, but I'm keeping it on the DL for a while. I'm pushing your FB page today!

Merci beaucoup for your help with adding my "pin it" to my tool bar! I'm becoming a smidge obsessed with Pinterest and wish I had more time to feed it ...XXOO

Your Pinterest comment made me laugh... I am the same way! I signed up, finally figured out how to add the pin it button and then the first thing I pinned came up under "books I enjoy reading" or something and it wasn't a book that I pinned! Now I feel like an idiot! I think I should get me kids to help me, because I am sure they could figure it out in about five minutes!
