Since I don't have a beach in my very near future plans...I am thinking about pools and which pool I am going to escape to this weekend for my mental health break from my jewelry making on the couch. It would be nice to arrive in Atlanta with some sort of tan. Lately, it has been hard to get myself in the sun. This weekend, the weather changed every 15 minutes and I ended up sitting on my balcony three separate times trying to catch the sun in between rain showers and overcast skies. The end result was frustration and not much of a tan to show for all my efforts. We did not have a pool growing up until we moved in the 3rd grade and I remember rotating between my Grandmother's pool in the Grove, a friend of my Mom's that lived near us and our yacht club pool. If you needed to find us on the weekends, we were at one of those three locations. Now..just find me a comfortable lounge chair, a towel and a diet coke with lots of ice and I am a very happy girl.
Last but not least, one of the most famous pool pics ever..Slim Aarons photo of C.Z. Guest and her son at Villa Artemis in Palm Beach, circa 1955.
