Luckiest Girl Alive

Last week, I devoured this funny book by Jessica Knoll.  My reading list is not up to date and this has been out for a while, but I did see it on Goop's Summer reading list, so that was enough of an endorsement for me.

The story is about a girl from Pennsylvania, just outside the Main Line, who moves to New York and has managed to re-invent herself.  She has all the trappings of a life she always wanted until her past comes creeping back into her present.  The book is an easy, fun read and the writing is sharp and full of interesting details.

The main character Ani uses her acerbic wit to characterize girls in New York but makes clear that she is above all the nonsense and that she was smart enough to know not "to parade around a monstrous Louis Vuitton like it was the eighth wonder of the world."  I laughed out loud at that one.

Reese Witherspoon is set to produce the movie, so if you are not in the reading mood these days, you can most likely watch the movie in the near future .  You can read this great article about the author and how she hooked up with Reese here.  You can purchase the book here.

Feeling lucky,
xoxo kp
