Gwyneth Gets Real...

My favorite cover girl Gwyneth Paltrow opens up in an interview in this month's Glamour Magazine.  She talks about her career, Goop, her kids and even Chris Martin.  Here are some highlights..

She has her own squad...

Paltrow told Glamour she created her new range of Goop cosmetics for her "California posse", who she listed as: "Cameron [Diaz], Blythe [Danner, her mother], Apple [Martin, her daughter], Drew [Barrymore], Reese [Witherspoon], Kate [Hudson], Chelsea [Handler]".
"If you were to ask me what my biggest success is, it's that I've been able to maintain and nourish my relationships," she added. "As you get older, you choose friends based on not only what feels resonant and warm but if they're bringing something to your life."

Making it on her own...

Despite being the child of showbiz parents (her mother was an actress, and her late father Bruce Paltrow was a director and producer for film and TV), Paltrow insisted to Glamour that she was "completely self-made".
"People think, 'She's just a rich kid.' Until I was 18, I was. Then I was broke. I've never taken a dime off my parents," she said, adding that she worked as a waitress in the early days of her acting career.
Explaining that she "unfortunately" thinks her children Apple, 11, and Moses, 7, will be "drawn to perform" ("They're naturals – they sing, act, play guitar, do stand-up – it's brimming out of them.") Paltrow said she would adopt the same "motivating" approach with her kids.

Chris Martin

Paltrow made headlines in 2014, when she announced she had "consciously uncoupled" from her husband of 10 years, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. In her Glamour interview, Paltrow called Martin a "great ex-husband".
"Well, the ideal is to stay married. But if you can't stay married, wouldn't the ideal be that you could still be a family and you could put aside your own stuff long enough to explore – what is this new family and who am I in it?" Paltrow said.
The Glee star, who is singing "a bit of harmony" on Coldplay's latest album A Head Full of Dreams, gave an insight into how the couple (who Paltrow confirmed have not yet divorced) are making things work for their young family.
"Last night he got in at midnight and slept here so he could surprise the kids in the morning, we could all have breakfast, and he could take them to school. So ... we're not living together, but he's more than welcome to be with us whenever he wants," she said.
"And vice versa: I sleep in his house in Malibu a lot with the kids. We'll have a weekend all together; holidays, we're together. We're still very much a family, even though we don't have a romantic relationship. He's like my brother."

One of my favorite interviews of Gwyneth was last year on Howard Stern.  She was so funny and answered all of his questions. If you missed it, you can hear it here.

Loving Gwyneth, as usual,
